Pilates and Yoga
Pilates is an exercise system developed, originally by Joseph Pilates, to improve your muscle tone, alignment and posture. Pilates is ideal if you are interested in toning up without adding bulk and improving posture.
Pilates focuses mainly on challenging and developing your core strength – especially your spinal muscles, abdominals and obliques. With regular Pilates, your postural muscles will become more balanced and work more efficiently so that you stand taller and feel stronger.
*Please note, group Pilates classes are not suitable if you have a back injury or chronic back pain. If you have back pain we recommend you seek professional medical advice before training with us
Yoga
Yoga has been practiced for thousands of years and works to develop strength and flexibility. The aim of yoga is to achieve a balance between your body, mind and spirit. Working through the asana (poses), helps to clear and calm the mind dissolving feelings of stress or worry. All types of Yoga aim to balance the mind, the body, and the spirit through the asana (poses), although the emphasis may vary according to instructor.
Yoga and Pilates classes at Hiscoes are suitable for all levels of fitness.
